Transmon Qubits: Exploring fabrication of superconducting qubits
Transmons, the most popular type of Superconducting Qubits, require meticulous attention in their fabrication, especially with regard to S-I-S Josephson Junctions. This work sets out to offer a comprehensive overview of various fabrication approaches and techniques, with a particular focus on methods and materials, highlighting their impact on the overall quality of the devices.
The project primarily focuses on calibration processes involved in fabricating Al/AlOx/Al Josephson Junctions. It further showcases an instance of cQED implementation for both fixed-frequency and flux-tunable transmons, with discussions on their measurement and characterization.
