Strongly fluctuating spin systems
When determining the spin-wave spectrum of the J1-J2 Heisenberg model on the two-dimensional square lattice, it can be seen to have a spectrum of zero-energy modes. The effect that the inclusion of additional interactions has on the spin-wave dispersion is determined in this thesis. The orthorhombic lattice is considered in the J1y-J1y-J2 Heisenberg model, and the anisotropic Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interaction is added to the J1-J2 Heisenberg model. The spin-wave dispersion is determined in both cases.
