Two Steps Towards a Trapped Rydberg Ion Quantum Computer- Laser Ablation Loading and Single-Ion Addressing
In this seminar talk I want to introduce myself and convince You that trapped Ions are a beautiful quantum systems for experimental quantum optics. In particular, they can be used for the realization of a quantum computer. In the Rydberg experiment of the Trapped Ion Quantum Technologies Group at Stockholm University, we try to realize such a quantum computer, that uses trapped ions excited to Rydberg states for qubit operations. I brought us closer to this goal by implementing ablation loading of our ion trap and by designing a setup for single-ion addressing.
