Control and Charaterization of Hybrid Superconductor Semiconductor Qubit Devices.
This thesis describes the basic theory of superconducting qubits, and explains the gate tuneable superconductor semiconductor ’gatemon’ qubit.
A gatemon qubit is characterised in terms of lifetime, coherence time, tunabiblity and noise in the qubit frequency. Feedback using the gate is implemented in order to stabilise the qubit frequency. Data acquisition is significantly sped up with a near quantum limited amplifier and more efficient measurement techniques.
