Quantum Dots Coupled to a Superconductor — Theory and Experiments on InAs Nanowires

When coupling a quantum dot to a superconductor, states form in the gap of the superconductor bound to the vicinity of the dot. This presentation will give an introduction to the concept, discuss recently published transport experiments in InAs nanowires, and explain how the numerical renormalization group process can be used to model the phenomena.
