Ultra-Low electron temperatures in nanostructured samples

Our efforts to reduce electron temperatures in nanostructured devices by implementing a cooling scheme based on adiabatic nuclear demagnetization (AND) are presented. The reduction of electron temperatures measured by thermometers in both metallic and semiconducting samples are shown and limitations of the AND technique for cooling nanostructured samples are discussed.
