Scanning gate experiments on semiconductor nanostructures: how ballistic is ballistic transport?

I will show some recent results on scanning gate experiments on a large ballistic stadium (3 micrometer diameter) as well as on quantum point contacts with the goal to image edge states in the (fractional) quantum Hall regime.
