Bohr & The Model: Lectures, film and exhibition

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Niels Bohr’s atomic model, the Niels Bohr Institute and The Royal Library are offering lectures, film and exhibition.

On Saturday, October 5, 2013, to emphasize the importance of the atomic model in the world, the Niels Bohr Institute under the direction of Center of Quantum Devices Director, Charles Marcus, and Quantum Optic Director, Eugene Polzik, invited three American physicists, including two Nobel laureates, to talk about the development initiated by Bohr's model. At the event physicist and Nobel laureate Steven Chu who has served as Secretary of Energy and helped the U. S. President Obama to see the potential of clean energy.  In addition to Steve Chu's talk, the audience was shown a sneak preview of the "Taming of the Quantum World," an upcoming documentary by the award-winning director Lars Becker-Larsen as well as talks by Nobel laureate William D. Phillips and the former Vice President of Research at AT&T Bell Labs, William F. Brinkman.
