Research Training

3-, 4-, or 5-year PhD

There are several ways to enter the PhD program at QDev: as soon as you have received a bachelor's degree, part-way through your Master's, or after your Master's degree.

The aim of research training at QDev is to recruit the brightest students and train them to be original and independent researchers who can influence the future directions of science and the society. Scientists at QDev offer supervision of Danish as well as international PhD and MSc students within a broad range of topics related to quantum physics.

PhD students at QDev are admitted to the Faculty PhD school at University of Copenhagen, and they receive a relatively high salary and significant support for travel. MSc and BSc projects are carried out through the Physics educational program at Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.

Projects are carried out in a dynamic international environment of daily interaction with the supervisors as well as other students, postdocs and staff at QDev. Projects and ideas are intertwined, and students, postdocs, staff and visitors will be moving between specific implementations and inventing hybrid technologies by combining approaches. Students are fully integrated into the scientific and social life of the center, the Niels Bohr Institute and the University of Copenhagen.
